Hidden Creed (Ryder Creed #6) -Alex Kava

Ok so I am not a dog person, we have always had cats. Having said that, Alex Kava’s Ryder Creed series makes me realize how many cool things dogs can do that cats can’t or won’t do! Hidden creed is book number 41 for the year. It is the sixth book in the series and may be the best yet!

I have been reading Alex Kava’s books since 2005, the year I read the first Maggie O’Dell book A Perfect Evil.

Strandedll (#11) is the only book in that series I haven’t read.  I know I checked it out of the library one or two times and started it at least once. However, I guess I started another book and never returned to Stranded. That ultimately led to it being returned it to the library unread. The reason I mention this book is that it is the book in which Ryder Creed and Maggie meet. Additionally, the Stranded case is mentioned in Hidden Creed. read more

Desperate Creed Another Winner from Alex Kava

Desperate Creed  ( Book #5 Ryder Creed) by Alex Kava

So today in addition to running this morning, I also finished the 40th book I’ve read this year. The book was Desperate Creed by Alex Kava. Desperate Creed is the fifth book in Kava’s Ryder Creed series.

I became a fan of Alex Kava’s books after reading her debut novel  A Perfect Evil in June of 2003. By September of 2003 I had read the first of Alex Kava’s book. All of those  books featured FBI agent Maggie O’Dell. Since then I have read all but one of the twelve books that are included in the Maggie O’Dell series. read more

Silent Creed – Alex Kava

Ryder Creed and Maggie O’Dell Team Up Again in Alex Kava‘s Silent Creed

So in the midst of all the goings on over the last week I did manage to finish my second book in October. It helped that the book, Silent Creed from Alex Kava was a real page-turner!! Silent Creed is the second book from Kava to feature dog-handler Ryder Creed and so far it has been a wild ride!! In Silent Creed Ryder is teamed with FBI profiler Maggie O’Dell for the second time. The initial pairing of Creed and O’Dell was in the thriller Breaking Creed. Maggie has been a favorite of mine through eleven thrillers! read more

Breaking Creed -Alex Kava

Breaking Creed – Alex Kava Introduces Ryder Creed to Thriller Readers

Alex Kava has been one of my favorite authors ever since I read A Perfect Evil, the first novel in the Maggie O’Dell series. That was one helluva great debut novel. Ms Kava has written 10 addition novels featuring and each one has been a wild ride! Now Ms’ Kava has introduced a new character for us fans to enjoy, Ryder Creed, The first book in this new series is titled Breaking Creed and like A Perfect Evil it’s a damn good debut.

Ryder Creed is a retired Marine who trains homeless dogs to sniff out contraband and hunt criminals. Ryder is called to help search the Choque Azul a ship suspected of carrying drugs. Ryder using his Jack Terrier Grace searches for drugs below the ship’s fish catch. The search  results – no drugs, instead, children being trafficked were found. A Trip to the Library…..no books, except maybe an Alex Kava…..

So I had to take books back to the library yesterday. both mine and my daughter Elizabeth’s. On the way I said to myself…”.You are not getting any books out of they library, you are already reading four or five books!” My response was fine, “well, how about if I only get out a book if I find something by somebody whose work I really love. like say Alex Kava!” I said this thinking I was safe because I know that Alex Kava’s books usually come out in the summer!! read more

Fireproof – Alex Kava

What’s Happening!

So,far 2013 has not been a great year, I think that I’ve missed more work both at Target and Lippincott Jacobs this month than I did all last year, as I’ve fought this upper respiratory virus. My wife his been fighting the same virus. Then top that with the loss of the son’s brother-in-law Will, and Peter’s wife’s grandfather and well it hasn’t been a great month to say the least!

There are some bright spots though first, my daughter Elizabeth has two interviews this coming week for graduate school, one with a top choice Lehigh and the other with a mid-level choice Rider, on Monday and Tuesday and another with Northeastern in Boston at the end of the month! Second I read six books during the month! read more

Damaged – Alex Kava

Damaged – Alex Kava -(Maggie O’Dell # 8)

Damaged by Alex Kava – Damaged is the eighth Kava novel featuring FBI profiler Maggie O’Dell. It was a fast and interesting read. Like many of her novels Kava weaves few truths amidst the fiction. In this book Maggie is literally sent into the eye of a hurricane!.A sea chest of bodies parts has been rescued from the Gulf of Mexico and Maggie is sent to Pensacola Florida to investigate .

Meanwhile Dr. Benjamin Platt is called to Pensacola assist in discovering why young soldiers are dying after successful surgery to repair war injuries. Maggie met Platt, while being treated for exposure to the Ebloa virus in the book Exposed.. They now have a quasi-relationship. Added to all this is the threat of a Catagory 5 hurricane bearing down on Pensacola!! read more
