So far I have finished two books this month. The first Blind Justice was my first visit to the world of Detective Sargent Aector McAvoy from David Mark. While the second Storm Watch was my 22nd visit to the world of C.J.Box‘s Joe Pickett.

I first met Joe Pickett and his family in 2003, when I read Savage Run the second book in the series. I soon read the Open Season book one in the series and I’ve only missed one book in the series! You can check out more here

Now that I am semi back into the swing of writing blog posts, I’ll first try to write about the books that I am currently reading, or just finished. With that being said, I just finished The Resting Place by Camilla Sten and it was really, really good!

The Resting Place is Camilla Sten’s second novel. The first was internationally acclaimed The Lost Village. Rights for The Lost Village have been sold to 17 territories around the world including film and TV. And based on The Resting Place I’m sure it’s terrific! In fact I just checked the Ebook version out at my local library! read more

Crooked River – Preston & Child – Pendergast is Gold Again!

If you’ve read some of my past blog posts you probably know that I am a fan of mystery and thriller series. Some of those series I have been reading religiously for 20 or more years. Others I have read several books, stopped a lost track of the series. The Agent Pendergast series from Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child is one of the later.

I read the first two books in the series Relic and Reliquary, which were terrific. Then I read several more books in the series. I also enjoyed those books. However, through the years other books always were read instead of Pendergast novels. read more

Thoughts of the November Man lead to Series I Miss!

Thoughts of The November Man and Three Missed Series 

So the other day while I was straightening up, I came across one of my old book journals. The journal covers the years from 1992 to 2000 (roughly my 40s).

Anyway, when I was looking at the journal, I also for some reason checked my Goodreads’ bookshelves. I discovered  none of the books from 1993 were listed. So I  started out to shelve the books.

Book No. 8 for the year was Burning the Apostle  by Bill Granger. It is the 13th and final book in Granger’s November Man series. The first November Man book I read was The Infant of  Prague, which I read in 1988. Between 1988 and 1993 I read the last five books in the series, as well as, the second book in the series Schism. read more

Dark Sky -C.J. Box (Joe Pickett #21)

I have been reading c.J. Box‘s  Joe Pickett books for a long time and Dark Sky the 21st book in the series is in my opinion one of his best!

The Residence -Andrew Pyper – A Haunted White House!

So this morning I didn’t do my typical workout first thing. Instead I finished reading The Residence by Andrew Pyper. It’s the first book I’ve read by Pyper and the 27th book I’ve read in 2021.

Finally a Post! Romeo’s Way Book 22 for 2021!

Ok so it may or may not be obvious but I am not having an easy time restarting posting to this blog. I have started countless posts only to not finish them. Frankly, I really don’t know why. Part of the reason may be that I am being overly self-critical. I keep telling myself no one cares or even likes what you write! Additionally, I think of  the vast quantity of blogs and say to myself, “why do you think anyone is going to visit your blog?”My answer is always the same – I don’t know”. Ragnar Jonnason -The Darkness the Start of a Great Series!

The Mist is one of the four books I have planned to read over the next four weeks. I knew it was part of a different series from Ragnar Jonnason  Rupture the last of Jonasson books that I’ve read. Rupture is part of Ragnar’s Dark Iceland series, while The Mist is part of the Hidden Iceland series.

.What I didn’t  do before  I checked The Mist out of the library was check what number it was in the series. When I did check I discovered It’s book number three.

A while back I had checked out the electronic version of The Darkness, which is book one of the series. However, It went back unread. First because I got caught up reading other books and secondly because ebooks can not be renewed. read more
